Cindy Knott, RSW, MPA has been a Social Worker for more than 30 years specializing in adoption, child protection and parenting support. She has extensive experience supporting pre-adoption planning, providing birth parent support and working with families post adoption helping them effectively meet the needs of their child. Cindy understands the complexities of transitioning children from foster care to adoption and how to work with the family unit and the child’s support team in a collaborative and trauma informed way.
Cindy is also an experienced facilitator, offering a wide variety of workshops and training programs for parents, foster parents, prospective adoption parents and professionals. She has been active in curriculum development and delivery of Adoption Education Programs for many years.
Cindy is passionate about supporting adoptive, foster and permanent families to respond therapeutically to the children in their care, with a specialty in managing family crisis. She understands the unique needs of these families dealing with trauma and loss and offers practical interventions for supporting healthy attachment and optimal development. Cindy is trained to offer the Safe and Sound Protocol online for children, youth and parents.
