Junior Clinical Counsellor

We are recruiting a Junior Registered Clinical Counsellor to join our lower mainland team based in Surrey and Abbotsford. This is an opportunity to work alongside highly skilled clinicians that will support you in building expertise in the areas of trauma, attachment and permanency. There is potential for this role to transition into an opportunity to be one of our team’s registered clinical counsellors.

About the role

This is an opportunity for you to work in a fast paced environment and build your experience to meet the needs of foster, permanent and adoptive families. You’ll have the opportunity to learn and update your knowledge base in areas of child development, trauma, attachment, and relevant clinical interventions.

What you will bring

• MA in counselling psychology or equivalent post graduate degree
• Registration and current good standing with BCACC or CCPA
• Demonstrated interest in working with foster, permanent and adoptive families
• Working knowledge of early childhood and adolescent development
• Working knowledge of attachment and parent-child dynamics
• Ability to work and make decisions under pressure
• Availability to work a minimum of 3 days per week
• Video and teletherapy experience
• Confident working with dysregulated children and youth, comfortable with crisis management.
