Supporting your Child through Trauma Therapy

Parent Role in Child’s Trauma Therapy: Enhancing the Healing with an Attuned Caregiver

We know through research and clinical experience that a parent’s participation in their child’s trauma therapy sessions is the key ingredient for deep and meaningful healing. This workshop will break down the important information and skills you need to feel comfortable and confident in the process.

  • What is my role in my child’s trauma therapy?
  • How do I know what to say and what not to say?
  • What do I do when I feel overwhelmed? How do I know when to step in or sit back?
  • What if I am totally unclear on the function of the sessions?
  • What happens when my goal and my child’s goal don’t align?
  • What if I feel awkward and uncomfortable when I am not contributing to the conversation? What can I do to help?

Our trauma specialist Meagan VanDiermen invites you to bring your own questions and concerns for the Q & A portion of this webinar.
