This workshop was designed specifically for family members of adoptive parents. Participants will learn about the important differences between parenting biological children and parenting children who join families through adoption. They will have an opportunity to understand what it means to support healthy attachment for children who have experienced trauma and loss.
This will be a safe space for extended family members to talk about their concerns, ask hard questions and connect with others with similar experiences.
Most importantly there will be extensive discussion about what types of support adoptive families benefit from most during the first year post placement. Participants will leave with some practical ideas of how to help!
